Poetry Stew (poem)

Poetry Stew

I retreat to the kitchen
To whisk metaphorical roux
Savory meat added for gusto
And those colorful vegetables
Only little words
Absorbing brothy flavor.
The spooned sample, hot
Guarded beneath by cupped hand
“More salt”, you say.
