Wizardry Uncloaked (Poem)

Wizardry Uncloaked

Potion brewed and corked by wizard
Eye of newt and tongue of lizard
Bottles aplenty in dark ferment
Awaiting spell and wry consent

Mantic vision to chart a course
Tip of staff, a touch, a source
A swirl of smoke quick as silver
Garden ritual, herbs to pilfer

Scrying future in ball of glass
Through haze-filled orb his eyes do pass
Questing alchemy cooked in books
Foretelling ends right as rooks

Repeating chant of single word
Turmoil steeped and energy stirred
Upswing of wand in final breath
Enchanting all, til death, til death
